Welcome

The Western Conference on Linguistics (WECOL) is an international conference on any aspect of theoretical and descriptive linguistics.

The faculty, students, and administration of California State University, Fresno are honored to host our distinguished guests. WECOL is a free event open to the public.

WECOL 2026 will be conducted fully virtual via Zoom based at California State University, Fresno. The conference dates are November 14 -15.

Call for Abstracts

Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be original and not previously published. Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author. Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (with 10 minutes for discussion) on any aspect of theoretical or descriptive linguistics.

Abstracts must be limited to 500 words, excluding references. The format of the abstract should follow the guidelines below:
  • Title centered at top of page
  • Word count at the end of the abstract
  • Anonymous: author names and affiliations should not be indicated anywhere in the abstract
  • File name: title.pdf

Conference papers will be published in the WECOL 2026 Proceedings online on the proceedings page of the conference website.
